Course Description/Contents: Learn the foundations of figure drawing: techniques for bringing the human form to life on paper. Artist and teacher breaks down a classical approach to figure drawing into simple steps: capturing gesture and motion, mapping out structure and form, understanding the common "landmarks" of the body, drawing proportionally, and adding volume with shapes and shadows. Filmed on premise in a professional art studio, this course shows how to work with live models and different drawing materials. It's ideal for beginners who are just learning to draw the human figure as well as experienced artists who want to brush up their drawing skills. Sample poses in the exercise files to practice figure drawing in your own time [Prerequisite: MCT 113]. Course Description/Contents: Drawing Lectures on Artist: The use of Chiaroscuro; Dynamic Line Quality; Visual Literacy; Isometric Scaling: Proportional Weight; Science and Surface; Emotional Distance; Dimensional (mixed media) Elements: Found Objects and Paper; Medium Control; Photographic Extensions; Perspective: Foreground; Middle ground; Background; Social Issues; Teachers; Leaders; Universal Icons; Creative Drawing Intuition and Space; Form vs. Thought; Line; Mass; Progression; Building compositions. [Prerequisite: MCT113] Method of delivery and Activities: Lecture / power point presentation, student activities / group work (mandatory) / lab work, presentation, practical work / assignment etc. Plus use of online platforms of DIU In case of a theory+ lab, classes will be conducted in the lab and emphasis will be given on the lab work. In each class, maximum 20-30 minutes lecture / power point presentation will give then lab work and practice by the students, monitoring lab work. More skilled students may tutor others in the group, etc.

Why you should learn this course?Epidemiology 1 is a 3-credit course designed for public health care professionals. ‘Epidemiology’ is the basic science of public health. Often called “the cornerstone” of public health, epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of diseases, health conditions, or events among populations and the application of that study to control health problems. Epidemiological methods are frequently used by public health professionals to determine relevant risk factors associated with disease occurrence. Knowledge of these risk factors is used to direct further research investigation and to implement disease control measures as well as to promote health. Course objectives: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:Understand the practice of epidemiology as it relates to real life;Makes for a better appreciation of public health programs and policies;Explore public health issues like cardiovascular and infectious diseases;Know about the advantages and limitations of epidemiologic research.
