Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is lighter than air. Toxic to all vertebrate and invertebrate hemoglobin animals, including humans.
Normally a small amount of oxygen ( in O ) in the presence of carbon ( C, ) materials, such as wood , coal , etc. Carbon monoxide gas is produced by burning.
Carbon monoxide is the most unwanted inorganic pollutant.

Pollutants like carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrous oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) are collectively called as Inorganic gaseous pollutants. These are the major contributors to the indoor air pollution.

CO is inorganic air pollutant.
Carbon monoxide (CO)β€”a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and toxic air pollutantβ€”is produced in the incomplete combustion of carbon-containing fuels, such as gasoline, natural gas, oil, coal, and wood.
