Hindu law in Bangladesh is the collection of that laws by which a
Hindu is able to lead his life properly. It deals with personal aspects i.e.
marriage, maintenance, laws of succession, adoption, endowments, partition and
all other necessary aspects. These are included and described properly in Hindu
Law.Law as understood by the Hindus is a branch of ‘Dharma’. It is an
expression of wide importance and means the summation of duties and obligations
including religious, moral, social and legal. ‘Dharma’ means what is followed
by those who are learned in ‘Veda’ and what is approved by the conscience of
the virtuous who are exempted from hatred and inordinate with affection.
