Health System of Bangladesh:
According
to WHO, a health system includes “All the activities whose primary purpose is
to promote, restore or maintain health.” Traditionally
health systems were described in terms of capacities, indicators and activities
(e.g. number of hospital beds, physicians, nurses, govt. programs)
Bangladesh has a heterogeneous healthcare system that is largely deregulated and is dominated by four primary actors: the government, the for-profit private sector, the not-for-profit private sector (mostly nonprofit organizations), and international development organizations.
