IPS stands for Intrusion Prevention System, which is a network security appliance or software application that monitors network traffic for malicious activity. It is designed to detect and prevent malicious activities, such as data theft, malware propagation, denial of service (DoS) attacks, and other unauthorized activities. IPS can also be used to detect suspicious network traffic patterns, such as port scans and brute force attacks. Honeypots are computer systems that are set up to appear as targets for attackers, but are actually designed to detect and respond to malicious activity. By setting up a honeypot, organizations can monitor the activity of attackers and detect malicious activity before it affects their networks or systems.
