Heavy metals are widely present in the environment and can get into our food. While environmental contamination (e.g. from soil and water) likely is the main source, they could also enter food through processing. And these are come from energy intensive industries , coal mining industry, vehicles pollution, sewage pollution sources they can enter soil and comes our food commodity.

A reality about our food supply is that metals, such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, mercury and others - are present in certain foods. These elements occur naturally and as environmental pollutants in air, water and soil and they enter the food supply when plants take them up as they grow
