1.What is dual boot?

= A dual boot system is a computer system in which two operating systems are installed on the same hard drive, allowing either operating system to be loaded and given control.

2. What is Swap area?

= Swap space is the area on a hard disk. It is a part of your machine's Virtual Memory, which is a combination of accessible physical memory (RAM) and the swap space. Swap holds memory pages that are temporarily inactive.

3. What is Mount point?

= A mount point is a directory in a file system where additional information is logically connected from a storage location outside the operating system's root drive and partition.

4. What is file system?

= In computing, a file system or filesystem (often abbreviated to fs) controls how data is stored and retrieved.

5. What is ext4?

Ext4 is a Linux File system

6. How many disk types are there in system?

= There are two basic types of disks in the computer hardware realm: magnetic disks and optical disks.

7. What is basic disk?

= Basic disks are the storage types most often used with Windows. The term basic disk refers to a disk that contains partitions, such as primary partitions and logical drives, and these in turn are usually formatted with a file system to become a volume for file storage.

8. What is dynamic disk?

= Basic disks are the most common type of partition used in Windows operating systems. This disk uses primary partitions and logical drives that are formatted with a file system.

9. Which disk type is being used in YOUR own PC?

BIWIN SSD

10. What is the problem of dynamic disk during ubuntu installation?

= we will have to convert the dynamic partitions back to basic partitions and we will have to delete the newly created partition first, otherwise the conversion would probably fail.

11. How many partition types are there in system?

= There are three types of brick partition walls which include plain brick partition wall, reinforced brick partition wall, and brick nogging partition wall.

12. What is MBR partition?

= A master boot record is a special type of boot sector at the very beginning of partitioned computer mass storage devices like fixed disks or removable drives intended for use with IBM PC-compatible systems and beyond.

13. What is GPT partition?

= The GUID Partition Table is a standard for the layout of partition tables of a physical computer storage device, such as a hard disk drive or solid-state drive, using universally unique identifiers, which are also known as globally unique identifiers

14. Which partition type is being used in your own PC?

GUID partition table (GPT)

15. How many BIOS mode you have?

= INSYDE Corp 1.07.06 TDCL.

16. What is UEFI Mode?

= The Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) is a specification that defines a software interface between an operating system and platform firmware. ... UEFI can support remote diagnostics and repair of computers, even with no operating system installed.

17. What is BIOS/legacy mode?

= Legacy boot is the boot process used by basic input/output system (BIOS) firmware. ... The firmware maintains a list of installed storage devices that may be bootable (floppy disk drives, hard disk drives, optical disk drives, tape drives, etc.) and enumerates them in a configurable order of priority.

18. Which BIOS mode is being used in your system?

= UEFI

19. What is the difference between UEFI and Legacy Mode?

The main difference between UEFI and legacy boot is that the UEFI is the latest method of booting a computer that is designed to replace BIOS while the legacy boot is the process of booting the computer using BIOS firmware. ... Legacy boot is the regular method of booting the system using BIOS.

20. What is benefit of LTS ubuntu version?

Ubuntu LTS versions receive security and maintenance updates for the lifecycle of their release. Unless the release reaches the End of Life, you will get all the necessary security and bug fixes.

21. BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System.

22. MBR stands for master boot record.

23. GPT stands for GUID Partition Table.

24. UEFI stands for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface.

25. LTS stands for Long Term Support.
