If I was in Samira's condition, I would try to research  the exact  situation at first. I will try to make sure that if the rumours are actually true or it was only a rumours. It is important to be assertive in situations where the issue important and when confrontation agreeable but it is also important to be less assertive in situations where the issue unimportant and confrontation  not appropriate.I will handle everything spontaneously because my job is my first priority.
