theories.

Explores the “world” within the text
4. Structuralism:

human culture must be understood

opposite of New Criticism, Russian Formalism and
Liberal Humanism

Analyse a text relating it to some larger
containing structure
5. Modernism:

It’s not a theory

It reflects a sense of cultural crisis

knowledge is not absolute
