 Bangladesh has three GI registered products, namely the 'Jamdanee,' hilsa, and the Khirsapat mango.

Currently, Bangladesh has three (3) GI registered products, namely the 'Jamdanee,' hilsa, and the Khirsapat mango. The country has also applied for the same enlistment for the newly revived Muslin and 22 products along with a whole list of products waiting for acceptance.

9 products have been found as GI product of Bangladesh. Such as, 1)Dhakai Muslin
2)Rajshahi silk
3)Kalijeera rice
4)kataribhog rice
5)Sataranji
6)White soil
7) Khirshapaat mango
8)Jamdani
9)Hilsha fish

Bangladesh has Four GI registered products,with their deceleration date.

 namely:-

 'No 1 : Jamdanee(17th November  2016),

No 2 : hilsa(6th August 2017)

No 3 : the Khirsapat mango(27th January 2019)

No 4: Moslin (28th December 2020) 


Others products are selected but yet not decelerated as GI products  by the Department of Patents,Designs and Trademarks (DPDT)under the Ministry  of Industry..

The total number of GI-tagged products increased to nine in the country.
The six new GI-tagged products are: Maslin of Dhaka, Shatranji of Rangpur, Silk of Rajshahi, Kataribhog and Kalijira rice of Dinajpur and Clay-crystalline cellulose composite of Bijoypur.

Earlier, three products- Jamdani, Hilsha Fish and Khirsapat mango of Chapainawabganj became the GI products.

Bangladesh has gained the recognition of its six new products as Geographical Indicator or GI products. Those are ‘Dhakai Muslin’, ‘Rajshahi Silk’, ‘Kalojira Rice’, ‘Kataribhog in Dinajpur’, ‘Sadamati’ and ‘Sataranji’ in Vijaypur (Netrokona).

Geographical indications are typically used for agricultural products, foodstuffs, wine and spirit drinks, handicrafts, and industrial products.

There are nine products have been geographical indications registered. These are: Hilsha fish, Jamdani, white soil, khrishapaat mango, Sataranji, kataribhog rice, kalijeera rice, Rajshahi silk, Dhakai moslin.
