Public Health: Public health promotes and
protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work
and play. Public health
has been defined as "the science and art of preventing disease”,
prolonging life and improving quality of life,through organized efforts and
informed choices of socity, organizations , communities and individuals.
The public health approach involves
defining and measuring the health problem of the country, determining the
source and risk factors for the persisting health problem, identifying how to
prevent or enhance the problem, and implementing effective strategies on a
larger scale, and evaluating the impact.
