1.Captive market: the customer does not have a choice of operation.A captive market is a market in which consumers have very little choice because there is no competition. Consumers cannot buy anywhere else.


   For example :

       cinemas, airports, and sports arenas, college textbooks, US cable companies, the Kosher food market in the United Kingdom, printer refills, truck stops due to fueling contracts and semi truck regulations, and phone calls and food in jails and prisons.



2.Non-captive market: the customer has an open choice of opportunities. 

 

    For example :

        Shopping malls, street side shop. 5 stats restaurant food service. Etc



       Captive mines are those that produce coal or mineral for exclusive use by the company that owns the mines, while non-captive ones those that produce as well as sell the fuel.
