What is classification?

Ans: The action or process of classifying something. “Image classification is the process of assigning land cover classes to pixels. For example, classes include water, urban, forest, agriculture, and grassland.


What is supervised classification?

Ans: Supervised classification is the procedure most often used for quantitative analysis of remote sensing image data. It rests upon using suitable algorithms to label the pixels in an image as representing particular ground cover types, or classes.
