Any good training deals with four aspects:

1. Knowledge

Knowledge refer to learning concepts that could be theoretical, conceptual or procedural and understanding information regarding a particular subject by a person through books, media, or study a certain degree or other sources.

According to food and beverage service staff should know how to serve various type of wine or drink in the correct continuous and the right temperature.

For example:     

i   Equipment and materials.

ii   Products.

iii  Process

iv  Legislation.

2. Skills: Skill refer to ability of using that information and apply in a context. it's actions or tasks that are performed.

For example: Holding and using service spoon and fork and other service equipments.

3. Attitudes: Attitude is the way in which an individual goes about their work. Arriving work on time communicating respectfully with colleague and looking for solution rather than warning a all indicate of good attitude. You have to be -

Punctual.

Honest.

Loyal.

4. Competencies: Competency is a dominated ability to apply knowledge skill and attitude to achieving observable result.

When you are competent you will be well organized and supportive for your team.

According to food and beverage you have to able to –

i           Prepare dining room/restaurant area for service.

ii         Welcome guests and take food and beverage orders.

iii       Promote food and beverage products.

iv       Provide food and beverage services to guest.

v         Provide room service.

vi       Receive and handle guest concerns.
