Topic: Challenges of Quality Education in Tertiary Level in Bangladesh: An Empirical Study
Objectives of the Study: The objectives of this study are divided into two categories: general and specific. The general objective of the study is to identify the elements contributing to quality education at the tertiary level. On the other hand, the specific objectives are:
To explore the governance, management, and administrative problems of universities in Bangladesh.
To find out the gap between ongoing curriculum, teaching method, research activities, assessment system, and student’s access to pursue knowledge and skill.
Finally, to provide recommendations to reduce structural weaknesses and assure the quality of education at Tertiary Level in Bangladesh which will be practical in formatting policy orientation and gap management.
The methodology of the Study: The proposed study will be conducted applying the qualitative method of social research with the combination of both primary and secondary data. The primary data will be collected from a good number of private universities in Bangladesh by using the combination of a questionnaire survey, In-depth Interviews, and FGD. The secondary data will be collected by the newspaper, journal article, Book, and other related sources.
Expected output: This research will find out the root causes of determining quality education at the tertiary level in Bangladesh. Because a big portion of the higher graduates is supplied from these institutions. On the other hand, the GDP and sustainable inclusive development goal would not be achieved without the proper utilization of graduates and their inputs. Similarly, this study will explore the real picture of tertiary education as well as direct some policy orientation formulating sound policymaking for national development.
My Profile: I, Mohammad Faisal Akber, have been working as a senior lecturer in the department of development studies at Daffodil international University since May 2016. I successfully completed my B.S.S (Hon’s) and M.S.S under the dept. of political science, University f Dhaka. Recently, I received M. Phil Degree in “Family Dominance on Political parties in Bangladesh: A Comparative Analysis" under the dept. of political science, University of Dhaka. Besides this academic journey, I have experienced in press and media from the beginning of my graduation. I have worked in many national dailies for the last ten years.
