In this chapter, I explored the concepts of ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and sustainability. Ethics involves the principles that guide what is considered right and wrong behavior in business. An ethical dilemma arises when a decision requires choosing between conflicting values, making it challenging to determine the best course of action.
I also learned about the roots of ethical and unethical practices, which are shaped by factors such as culture, personal values, and business pressures. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) emphasizes that businesses should contribute positively to society rather than focusing solely on profit. Sustainability involves ensuring that business activities meet current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. Together, these concepts are crucial for promoting responsible and thoughtful business practices.
