enables court to uphold a ruling when a breach of fundamental rights has been happened. Such kind of rights has been described under Part III of the Constitution

Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Bangladesh refers to a legal mechanism that allows individuals or organizations to file a lawsuit on behalf of the public interest. PIL allows concerned citizens or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to bring cases before the courts to address issues of public concern and seek remedies for violations of constitutional rights or the enforcement of public duties.

PIL cases in Bangladesh typically involve matters related to human rights, environmental protection, corruption, public health, governance, and other issues affecting the public at large. These cases are often aimed at holding government authorities accountable, challenging unconstitutional laws or policies, or seeking judicial intervention for the protection of fundamental rights.

PIL cases can be filed in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh under Article 102 of the Constitution, which grants the court the power to enforce fundamental rights. The court has the authority to hear PIL cases and issue appropriate orders or directions to address the public interest concerns raised in the petitions.

PIL has played a significant role in Bangladesh's legal system, providing a platform for citizens and organizations to advocate for public welfare and social justice. It has contributed to the advancement of human rights, environmental conservation, and good governance in the country.
