Difference Between Warp Knitting and Weft Knitting:

I. Warp knitting used yarns are supplied from the beam and weft knitting used cone for supplied yarn.

II. In warp knitting, the used yarn runs in the horizontal direction .On the other hand, weft knitting the used yarn runs in the vertical direction.
III. Warp knitting is elastic to the length and weft knitting is elastic to the width.
IV. It has less shrinkage than weft knitting and it has higher shrinkage than warp knitting.
V. Warp knitted fabric is too much perfect for the dry wash and Weft knitted fabric is perfect for hand wash.

There are a lot of difference between warp and weft knitting .Some of them are for yarn supply beam is used in warp and cone is used in weft. Yarn movement is different as well horizontal direction in warp and vertical direction in weft . weft has higher shrinkage than warp.

Ans. Differences in warp and weft Knitting are given below:

1. In weft knitting only one set of yarn is used that form courses along the weft-wise direction of the fabric, while in warp knitting many sets of yarns are used coming from the warp-wise direction of the fabric.

2. Warp knitting differs from weft knitting, basically in that each needle loop has its own thread.

3. In warp knitting the needles produce parallel rows of loops simultaneously that are interlocked in a zigzag pattern, while in weft knitting the needles produce loops in the widthwise direction of the fabric.

4. In warp knitting the stitches on the face of the fabric appear vertically, but at a slight angle. While in weft knitting the stitches on the face of fabric appear vertically straight having v-shaped.

5. Warp knits can yield cloth with dimensional stability almost equal in woven fabrics, but in weft knits their very low dimensional stability and fabric can be stretched easily.

6. The production rate of warp knitting is very high than that of weft knitting.

7. In weft knitting the needles move in the cams having tracks in a circular direction, while in warp knitting the needles are mounted on a needle board that can only move up and down.
So these are some of the differences between warp knitting and weft knitting.

Answer the question:

Weft knitting is a knitted piece of fabric where the stitches run from left to right horizontally across the fabric. It is usually knitted with one piece of yarn and can be made either by hand or using a knitting machine. The knitting machine was invented to speed up the manufacturing process of knitted products.

Weft knitting is a method of forming a fabric in which the loops are made in horizontal way from a single yarn and intermeshing of loops take place in a circular or flat form on a crosswise basis.

In a weft knitted structure a horizontal row of loops can be made using one thread and the thread runs in the horizontal direction. Most of the knitted fabrics are produced by weft knitting.

Ans: Understanding about weft knitting:
Weft knitting is the simplest method of converting a yarn into fabrics. Weft knitting is a method of forming a fabric in which the loops are made in horizontal way from a single yarn and intermeshing of loops take place in a circular or flat form on a crosswise basis. In this method each weft thread is fed, more or less, at right-angle to direction in which fabric is formed. Each course in a weft knit builds upon the previous knitted course. Most of the weft knitting is of tubular form. It is possible to knit with only one thread or cone of yarn, though production demands have resulted in circular weft knitting machines being manufactured with upto192 threads (feeders).

Re: Understanding of weft knitting

A method of making a fabric by normal knitting means is which the loop made from each weft thread formed substantially along the length of the fabric. Characterized by the fact that each warp thread is feed more or less in the line with the direction in which the fabric is produced. Weft knitting is the most common type of knitting, it is the process of making a fabric by forming a series of connected loops in a horizontal or filling-wise direction; produced on both flat and circular knitting machines.
Weft knitting uses one continuous yarn to form courses, or rows of loops, across a fabric. There are three fundamental stitches in weft knitting: plain-knit, purl and rib. On a machine, the individual yarn is fed to one or more needles at a time. Weft knitting machines can produce both flat and circular fabric.
