1. What do you understand by the term 'Communication' in your personal life ?
Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place, person or group to another.
It means transferring thoughts, information, emotion and ideas through gesture, voice, symbols, signs and expressions from one person to another. Three things are most important and essential in any communication process they are Sender, Receiver and the Channel (medium).
In personal life, good communication skills can improve our personal relationships by helping us to understand others, and to be understood. It is almost a cliché that personal relationships need communication.
2. Do think that Communication can change the face of public health system ?
Yes, I think that communication can change the face of public health.
Knowledge is power. To help prevent disease, one must empower the patient. Thus, effective Health Communication gives us the ability to empower those we seek to treat. It is highly relevant to virtual areas of health and well-being which include disease prevention, health promotion and quality of life. Changing the health behaviour of the public is critical for disease prevention.
