1. How do you handle the situation when a problem arises due to barriers to communication??

Barriers to communication can be overcome by:

  • checking whether it is a good time and place to communicate with the person
  • being clear and using language that the person understands
  • communicating one thing at a time
  • respecting a person’s desire to not communicate
  • checking that the person has understood you correctly
  • communicating in a location that is free of distractions
  • acknowledging any emotional responses the person has to what you have said.
2. What do you mean by the physiological, psychological and cultural barriers?? 
Ans:
Physiological Barrier. Physiological barriers to communication are related with the limitations of the human body and the human mind (memory, attention, and perception). Physiological barriers may result from individuals' personal discomfort, caused by ill-health, poor eye sight, or hearing difficulties.

 

Psychological  barriers

The psychological state of the communicators will influence how the message is sent, received and perceived. For example, if someone is stressed they may be preoccupied by personal concerns and not as receptive to the message as if they were not stressed.

cultural barrier

Every country has numerous religions practised by its people. so the differences in their values and beliefs are also an example of cultural barriers. Body language and gestures: Body language and gestures are another elements of the cultural barrier. It is impossible to communicate without body language and gestures.
