    • Course Rationale:

      All courses reflect curriculum for excellence values, purposes and principles.This course provides learners with opportunities to continue their learning on the basis of their own departments. This course will provide the basic concepts of Newtonian mechanics and is application due to plane motion and momentum, Heat and Thermodynamics, importance of light and waves and its essentiality for Software engineering aspect. Some shorts of idea and knowledge gathering also regarding physics for modern world.


    • Course Objectives:

      This course will provide the basic idea regarding mental development ‘why basic physics for CORE engineering students’. Students will be able to apply their knowledge on Newtonian mechanics for introducing motion, momentum for their engineering work. Also will be able to apply their knowledge in waves and optical sense in their core courses and will apply their knowledge in the field of modern engineering of physics to our evolving historical and global context.

      This topics will provide you the knowledge for better understanding about the vibration and waves. How vibration produce and why vibration stay long or not. Also will try to know the energy of vibrating body and combination pattern of vibrations and their feature.

      Waves and oscillation is basically introduced in the course to understand about waves and vibration. The energy create and distribute through waves and how total energy create due to waves or vibration. Also interaction of different mode of vibration is important.

      This topics will provide the knowledge for better understanding about the Geometrical part of Optics like Reflection, Refaction and optical instruments.

      The chapter objectives to 

      (i) Define about the classification of optics (Geometrical and Physical)

      (ii) Which optical subject are in the geometrical part and their work in our life and extend

      1. know and be able to use the law of reflection and refraction.
      2. be able to sketch ray diagrams to locate images formed by mirrors and lenses.
      3. be able to calculate the magnification of images formed by reflection and refraction.
      4. be able to determine the speed of light in different media.

      6. know how to determine the critical angle for total internal reflection and about optical fiber.
