Topic outline

  • Introduction:

Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves . Advances in physics often enable advances in new technologiesStudents need to develop a solid grasp of core concepts and applications of classical mechanics, electricity and magnetism, modern physics. They learn how physics and other disciplines have impacted and continue to impact each other and society.

The goal of physics is to understand how things work from first principles and  apply core ideas in science & technology. Students who study physics can get a broad perspective to any problem. It helps to learn how to consider any problem by bringing the innovative thinking in preparing solution. This subject boosts student’s analytical skills to analyse complex problems and gives them a strong quantitative background that can be applied in any technical field.

    Course objectives:

Physics contributes to the knowledge of technological infrastructure and provides the motivation of engaging students in scientific advances and discoveries. This course can enhance intellectual, computational, experimental, communication and analytical skills of the students.

The students will be encouraged to  conduct, observe, analyzes and report an experiment, deal with physical models and formulas mathematically.

The course will helps the student to understand the international nature of science and the interdependence of science, technology and society, including the benefits, limitations and implications imposed by social, economic, political, environmental, cultural and ethical factors.

    Outcomes:

To able to know the Basic Concepts of Mechanics and Physics in general. It will helps to gather the knowledge for applying in the solution of engineering problem.

To be able to apply this analytical concepts from the principles and knowledge as the systematic tool for problem solving in scientific design and analysis.

To be able to demonstrate competency in experimental design and scientific investigation with the application of physics principles and methods leading valid conclusion for the betterment of society.

To improve the engineering vision which will lead to demonstrate the student’s sustainable technological change and their enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
