Rational:
This topics will provide the knowledge for better understanding about the Geometrical part of Optics like Reflection, Refaction and optical instruments. -
Objectives:
The chapter objectives to
(i) Define about the classification of optics (Geometrical and Physical)
(ii) Which optical subject are in the geometrical part and their work in our life and extend

Outcomes:
- know and be able to use the law of reflection and refraction.
- be able to sketch ray diagrams to locate images formed by mirrors and lenses.
- be able to calculate the magnification of images formed by reflection and refraction.
- be able to determine the speed of light in different media.
- be able to use Snell's law for the refraction of light.
- know how to determine the critical angle for total internal reflection and about optical fiber.
- know and be able to use the law of reflection and refraction.

This topics will provide the knowledge for better understanding about the Production, emission and propagation of light. Also some phenomena, what will evolved with wave nature of light like, interference, diffraction and polarisation -
Objectives:

(i) Describe the production, emission and propagation of light
(ii) Some optical phenomena, which we may observe in our practical life
