This course is designed to develop an understanding of the theoretical concepts surrounding pharmacology, such as the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, and the concepts surrounding pharmacotherapy. It gives specific information concerning drugs used in peptic ulcer, autacoids, analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory drugs, anesthetics, anticoagulants and CNS stimulant drugs and their classifications, as well as common examples in each classification. With each classification of drugs covered, their mode of action, their clinical effects and side effects will be emphasized.
This course mainly deals with fundamentals of analytical chemistry and also the study of elements in the periodic table. Inorganic Pharmacy -I course has been designed to understand atomic structure, chemical bonding and some common elements in the periodic table which are important for pharmaceutical arena.
