  • DIU BNCC

    Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) is a voluntary organization and second grade defense force run under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education simultaneously.

    Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) is a Para-Military Defense force, a Tri-Services Organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force.  BNCC is entrusted with the task of grooming the future leaders and finding the hidden potentials of youths. BNCC is an organization consisting of Defense services officers, Junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and Non-commissioned officers (NCOs) civilian officers & staffs, teaching staffs and students from different educational institutions. Ministry of Defense administratively controls this organization. Daffodil International University has BNCC Army wing since 2015. Daffodil International University BNCC platoon under Ramna Regiment 3 Battalion.

  • Objective of BNCC

    • Train the students of Schools, Colleges and Universities in order to make good citizens who can render their services to the nation as organized and disciplined volunteers during peace and war.

    • Task and Responsibilities

      Task and responsibilities of the BNCC Cadet.

        • To prepare to serve the nation during national emergency.

        • To render services to the distress citizens and the nation during man-made and natural disasters.

        • To act as an aid to the Armed Forces to safe guard the national integrity.

        • To undertake any responsibilities given by the government.

      • EVOLUTION OF BNCC

        • UCC In 1920 - British govt formed University Cadet Corps (UCC) in various universities.
        • UTC In 1923 - UCC was renamed as University Training Corps (UTC)
        • 12 Dhaka company In 1928- A UTC Company was raised at Dhaka University as 12 Dhaka Company.
        • UOTC In 1928 - In 1950 UTC renamed as UOTC or University Officer Training Corps.
        • JCC In 1966 - Programme was extended to few colleges and named as Junior Cadet Corps or JCC
        • BCC- Cadet Corps programme was further extended to schools as Bangladesh Cadet Corps (BCC).
        • BNCC in 1979- Finally UTC, UOTC, JCC and BCC were merged together and formed as Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC).

          BNCC Regiment.

          At present BNCC is organized in mainly five different administrative divisions and in some cases, part of a division. The functional units (Battalion)/subunits (Company/ Platoons) of each administrative divisions form a regiment of BNCC.



          Existing Regiments of BNCC and their names.

          (a) RAMNA Regiment covers Dhaka division area.
          (b) MOINAMATI Regiment covers Cumilla, Brahmanbaria districts and Sylhet division.
          (c) KARNAPHULI Regiment covers Chattogram division.
          (e) SUNDARBAN Regiment covers Khulna & Barishal division.
          (d) MOHASTHAN Regiment covers Rajshahi & Rangpur division.

          Platoon, Company and Battalion.
          1. The basic functional sub-units of schools, colleges and universities having minimum 31 cadets are called platoon.
          2. The basic functional sub-units having minimum three platoons are called Company (for Army Wing) /Squadron (for Air Wing) /Flotilla (for Navy Wing).
          3. The functional units under a regiment is called Battalion. A Battalion consists of five company and there are five Battalion under a Regiment.

          Senior Division – In Colleges and Universities.

          • Command Structure

            HQ BNCC & DG BNCC.
            HQ BNCC is the head office of BNCC located at Uttara, Dhaka. Training, administration and all other functions of BNCC are controlled and coordinated from the HQ of BNCC.

            DG BNCC.
            Director General (DG) BNCC is a military officer who is the chief of the force (BNCC).

            Regiment commander.
            Regiment Commander is a military officer who commands 5 Battalions under him.
             
            Company Commander
            Company commander is a BNCC Commissioned officer who commands 3 platoons under him. BNCC Commission Officers are called BNCCO or Bangladesh National Cadet Corps Officer.
             
            Platoon Commander
            He is the officer in charge of a platoon appointed amongst the teaching staffs of the educational institutions where the BNCC platoon exists. BNCC Platoon Commanders are called PUO (Professor Under Officer) or TUO (Teacher Under Officer).
             
            PUO/TUO
            PUO (Professor Under Officers) or TUO (Teacher Under Officer) are selected amongst the teaching staff of a particular institution by the head of that institutions where a BNCC platoon exists. They (PUOs/TUOs) are appointed as Platoon Commander by DG BNCC.

            BNCCO
            BNCCO or Bangladesh National Cadet Corps Officers are commissioned by a board of officers of HQ’s BNCC headed by DG BNCC. Their commission are finally approved by the govt. Usually the platoon commanders (PUO’s) who have completed the pre commission training from Bangladesh Military Academy or a Military Unit are eligible for such commission. They are appointed as Company Commander up to Battalion Commander by DG BNCC.  

            CUO
            CUO or Cadet Under Officers are selected amongst the cadets of a particular Company by the Regiment with law & condition of BNCC.
             
            Cadet SGT
            Cadet SGT or Cadet Sergeants are selected amongst the cadets of a particular Platoon by the Battalion with law & condition of BNCC.  

            Cadet CPL
            Cadet CPL or Cadet Corporals are selected amongst the cadets of a particular Platoon by the Battalion with law & condition of BNCC.  

            Cadet LCPL
            Cadet LCPL or Cadet Lance Corporal are selected amongst the cadets of a particular Platoon by the Battalion with law & condition of BNCC.  

            Cadet
            Cadets are selected amongst the Students of a particular School, College, and University by the Battalion with law & condition of BNCC.
            • Elligibility and Benefit of a BNCC Cadet

              Cadet in BNCC.
              The students enrolled under the BNCC Act 2016 are called cadets. Cadets are basically the students of the school, college and universities where the BNCC activities exist. Cadets are the main functional force of BNCC, are trained and prepared them to work voluntarily for the service of the nation.
              Eligibility:
              1. Student of College, University can apply as a senior division cadet from the educational institutions where the BNCC platoon exists & he/she is to be the student of that educational institution.
              2. Student of High School can apply as a junior division cadet from the educational institutions where the BNCC platoon exists & he/she is to be the student of that educational institution.
              Standard physical fitness of a cadet as described bellow :

                • Chest 0.76 Meter (30 Inch) Normal, 0.81 Meter (32 Inch) Expanded

                • Height 1.60 meter / 5ft 2 inchs
                • Weight 47 KG (104 pound)
                • Chest 0.71 Meter (28 Inch) Normal, 0.76 Meter (30 Inch) Expanded
              INSENTIVES FOR A CADET
              1. Training
              Can Develop leadership, commandership, discipline, self-confidence, good human qualities through a well
              organize training process including limited military and other trainings.
              2. JOIN SOLDIER QUOTA
              Quota from armed forces to join as a soldier, sailor or airman.
              3. Direct ISSB
              Chance of getting direct access to ISSB without written examination.
              4. Visit abroad & Meet Head of Govt.
              Visit abroad as BNCC Cadets; India, Srilanka, Maldives, Nepal, Singapore and meet Head of the States & Head of Govt.
              5. Study tours
              Study tours within and outside the country.
              6. Various Adventure Training
              Chances of various adventure training; mountain climbing, seamen ship, sailing Pooling, heli riding etc.
              7. Training with Armed Forces
              Chances of training with armed forces to prepare as a second line army for country.
              8. Add ADDItional marks honors & Degree exam
              Chances of adding additional points/numbers by taking military science as additional subject.
              Cadetship duration of a cadet
              02 years, extendable.
              Extension of cadetship duration
              In special case 1 year by Regiment Commander. HQ may extend up to any period.
              Requirements of Cadetship Certificate
              A camping in two years time.
              70% attendance in Institutional training.
