  • Nobody on earth can ever love us more than our parents. They are the well-wishers, best friends, and the first teacher in our life. To understand parenting and their empathetic bondage by extracting from the past, bearing present and exploring future by involving them directly, Daffodil International University (DIU) organizes "Parents' Day" in every semester as a part of the course "Art of Living".


    Parents’ Day plays an important role to witness the relationship between the students and their parents. It is one of the best days to explore the students, their emotions, and their behavior more closely. Teachers can get their pulse easily and lead them to have a better education further. Through this program, teachers can let the students feel that in order to become an educated person it is not enough to have a good grade, the noble relationship with parents, teachers, and relatives help to prepare students as a genuinely educated person.

  • Everyone has to play his own due part of making education really rewarding and productive. Having acknowledged this fact, it can rightly be said that the teachers are expected to shoulder a greater responsibility in fostering learning environment in order to transform the students into high achievers. Parents repose their full trust and confidence on the teachers and do hope that they will deliver their best and live up to their expectations. They avail the opportunity to meet the concerned teachers on parents-teachers day and seek details about the child’s academic progress, his strengths, and weaknesses, among other issues. So the parents-teachers day is of special significance, particularly when both have the child’s interest at heart.


    In this event, the following activities are practices with the assistance of Parents, Students, and Teachers.

    1. National Anthem with the presence of Parents, Students, and Teachers.
    2. Washing Feet of the Parents by their children. 
    3. Memory Sharing by both Parents and Students. 
    4. Embracing one another by both Parents and Students. 
    5. Different Games with Parents and Students  
    6. Advisers' Session with the Parents and Students. 








    • Students’ satisfaction level is high on satisfaction issue with the idea of parents’ day, with the idea of ‘embracing parents’, with the hospitality of their teachers on Parents’ Day. About 84% - 98% of students are satisfied with that issues.

    It means the program is liked by the current students of Daffodil International University. It makes them realize to rethink the relationship between them and their parents. This program lets the students sensible to love their parents and give them the best priority. To do this, ‘embracing parents’ plays an important role. Because it brings the parents and students closer to feel themselves. For this reason, 98% of students are happy with the idea of parents’ day and 87% of students are satisfied with the idea of ‘embracing parents’.

    • In this noble day, the teachers are also giving their best effort to make the day memorable to the students. They become friendlier with the students. For this reason, 84% of students are satisfied with the hospitality of their teachers on Parents’ Day.


    • Students’ satisfaction level is average on satisfaction issue with the idea of ‘washing feet’ of the parents, with the idea of ‘sharing feelings’, with the activities of volunteer in the program, with the transport facilities provided by the university, with the quality and distribution of the food, and with the time management of the program. About 50% - 70% of students are satisfied with that issues.

    It means some of the students still do not feel the importance of washing the feet of the parents. For this reason, 64% students are agreeing with the idea of ‘washing feet’ of the parents. On the other hand, 51% of students are happy with the idea of ‘sharing feelings’. It shows that we need to take great care of that session. There are some recommendations to improve the session by giving more time to the parents and the students to talk more to share their feelings with all of the students as well as the parents. Students are also not very much satisfied with the time management of the program and the distribution and quality of food. Approximately 55% of students are satisfied with these statements.

     

    • On the other hand, students’ satisfaction level is average on learning outcome issues with the relationship with their parents, teachers, guardian, and siblings are improved after the Parents’ Day. The family is a platform of unconditional love. By keeping this as a motto, DIU organizes Art of Living Parents’ Day every semester. And it is happy to find that 79% of students are agreeing that the relationship with their parents is improved, 63% of students are agreeing that the relationship with their teachers is improved, 78% of students are agreeing that the relationship with their guardian is improved and 72% of students are agreeing that the relationship with their siblings is improved after Parents’ Day.


    •  Parents’ Day not only helps the students of Daffodil International University to be a good human being but also help the university by opening a door to get many more students. According to the chart, 91% students are agreeing that the Parents' Day is creating a good impression to the upcoming students of DIU.


    • 100% of parents are satisfied with satisfaction the issue with the question that they are happy with the idea of Parents’ Day, with the question that they are happy with the idea of ‘washing feet’ of the parents, with the question that they are happy with the idea of ‘embracing parents’, they are happy with the session of ‘sharing feelings’, the question that they are happy with the hospitality of the faculty members.

    It means that all the parents want that the university should organize the event regularly. They also feel that the idea of ‘washing feet’ of the parents and ‘embracing parents’, and ‘sharing feelings’ are playing an important role to make their children good human beings.  

    • 70% - 80% of parents are satisfied with satisfaction issue with the question that they are happy with the time management of the program and the quality and distribution of food.
    • 100% of parents are satisfied with the learning outcome issue that they think the relationship with their child is improved after the Parents’ Day.
    • 80% of parents are satisfied with learning outcome issues on the question that the relationship with their child’s teachers is improved after the Parents’ Day
    • 100% of parents are agreeing that the Parents' Day is creating a good impression to the upcoming students of DIU.
