The course is focused on an overview of the various issues pertaining to mass media and communication in Bangladesh. Some significant aspects of our present day life which have impact in the society will be discussed in this course. The course will critically assess communication component and prevailing communicating situation of different programs of development initiated by institutions and organizations. Government, non-government and public sector programs of communication, their policies and strategies, content and media responses will be discussed. Indigenous and folk forms of communication and development communication issues in Bangladesh will also be analysed under this course.Course Title: Communication Issues in Bangladesh

Course Objectives:
After completing this course, the students will be able to:
Ø get in-depth knowledge on population, human resource and contemporary issues surrounding them
Ø learn communication and development issues in Bangladesh
Ø to get knowledge on digital development and connectivity
Ø know the emergence of development communication as a field of academic excellence
Ø attain comprehensive knowledge on agriculture, health, industry, technology and development areas relating communication
Ø develop skills to design various communication and development projects including strategic communication/campaign and develop advocacy guidelines
Ø conduct researches on communication and development issues
