Rationale: The aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge of Nature of the cell membrane, passage of drugs across cell membranes, various mechanisms, factors affecting drug absorption- physicochemical, physiological and pharmaceutical, routes of drug administration. The course will also provide the students purpose of bioavailability studies, relative and absolute availability, methods for assessing bioavailability, measures of bioequivalence study and single dose bioequivalence study and relevant statistics, review of regulatory requirements for conducting bioequivalence study.

Course objectives:

The prime objective of this course is to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of applying advanced approaches of functional areas of pharmacokinetics in a molecular level. In this course students will be exposed with the real-life scenarios through solving relevant cases and interfacing real situations related to the understanding of the applications of the principles of the basic concepts of design of new active drug moieties, manufacture of novel drug products, and drug delivery systems.
