The balance of a test is all debit for the entity for a certain period of time. The list of credit accounts and the total - usually one month is the format of the trial balance - all debit balances listed in one column. The other is a two-column schedule with all the credit balances listed. The trial balance is prepared after all transactions have been journaled and posted on General Ledger for the time being.
