Alternative Dispute Resolution Benefits:


  1) It is usually faster and less expensive.


  2) People have the opportunity to see them as soon as they see their story.


  3) It is more flexible and responsive to the individual needs of the people involved.


  4) It is more informal.  The parties involved in the process build greater commitment to the outcome so that compliance.



  Disadvantages of ADR:


  1) There is no guaranteed resolution.  Alternative dispute resolution process without arbitration does not always lead to a resolution.


  2) The arbitration decision is final.


  3) Restrictions on arbitration awards


  4) Discovery limitations.


  5) Fee for neutral.


  6) There may be no alternative.


  7) Non-binding arbitration.


  8) Caution.
