From the introductory sessions of this course, I have gained knowledge about the concept of theory and literary theory. I have learnt about several literary theories.
Among them, I am going to describe random five.

1/ Liberal Humanism :

* According to liberal humanism, good literature is of timeless significance.
* This theory says that human nature is unchanging.
* According to this theory, the text reveals constants and universal truth about human nature.

2/ Formalism :

* This theory is an interpretive approach that emphasizes the study of form and literary devices in the text.
* This theory says that author or context isn't essential. Only the narrative is necessary.
* Formalists focus on the study of poetic language.

3/ New criticism :

* It explores the "world" within the text.
 * This theory says that readers have not to be familiar with historical context.
* According to this theory, readers do not have to know about the background of the author to read a text.

4/ Deconstruction :

* This theory shows that a literary work is self-contradictory.
* This theory invites us to unravel constructs around us and to re-examine appearance and reality as well.
* People may have different interpretations of the text or art.

5/ Marxism :

* This is the literary theory which deals with the clash between class.
* According to this theory, art reflects the age in which it was created.
* It is an articulation of the dominant class.

Those are the 5 literary theories that I chose for the feedback forum. Thank you.
