From the introductoy sessions, wetheorieaned a lot of theories i brief.  Our course teacher introduced all thes theories to us in sucha way that we became very eager to learn all ofthese theories in detai. 

Now I am going to mntion three main points relatedto the definition and characterstics of five important theorie. 

• 1.Liberal Humanism: 

a)Cnsider the significance of literatue as timeless.

b)Study the text inisolation. 

c)Imply the ruling assumtions as well as class distinctions.

• 2.Deconstruction:

a)Thinking about thetext in a fragmented way as meaning is not constant. 

b)Disagreeing with the existng norms and creating own meaning. 

c)Sel-contradictory

• 3.Ecocriticism: 

a)Questning the relationship between nature and litrature. 

b)An earth centered approach to lierary study.

c)Influence of nature in the litrary text.

• 4.Feminist Criticism:

a)Concered with impact of gender on writing and reading

b)Desire for a new literary canon (not men

)Deals with conflicts between often dominate male ad inferior female in traditional literature

5.arxism:

a)Sees art and literature as forced by the cnditions that existed in history

b)Deals with clashbetween classes

c)Articulation of dominant class
