When we work with dataset  we get different types of attribute like string, integer, double, float,object. But we know machines can't operate with string data,so the string data is converted into integer or double by encoding. Besides encoding removes the redundancies from the data which decrease the size of the file . Since encoded data is smaller in size, we should be able to save space on your storage devices.
