The nutrition care process is a standardized and systematic approach that nutrition professionals, namely dietitians (referred to as Registered Dietitians, ) and use to provide care. The NCP has been adopted by international dietetic associations and is updated by an international working group every 5 years .
The process follows nutrition screening and consists of four interrelated steps:
(1) nutrition assessment,
(2) nutrition diagnosis,
(3) nutrition intervention and
(4) nutrition monitoring and evaluation.
