I read a great article this week on The New York Times that resonated with me on several levels and it is something everyone should read.

Sometimes, we don’t know what to do with our life. We don’t know how to find direction/meaning in life. Philosophers have searched the answer to this question for ages with no result.

If we notice today, everyone is busy. From an  10th class student.I believe we fall into this trap because We are afraid to take responsibility of our life and We equate ‘being busy’ with meaningful life.

The Busy trap is a reflection of how we individuals are living in the busy trap of our life. The Occupied Trap is showing us that we are pursuing the bustling existence with loaded with laments toward the finish of our life's and I concur with it as well . As the creator making sense of for us we ought to quit being occupied and partake in our lives with our family or doing how I need to loosen up other shrewd toward the finish of our life we will lament that we were unable to invest energy with our friends and family on account of our hecticness so keep away from the hecticness.

Americans today are changing fast and constantly moving forward. Since we have a lot to do in a short amount of time, chaos and confusion seem to take over our lives. In "The Busy Trap" Tim Kreider made a reason why the audience should do their best to avoid the chaos that is well thought out, however, some of the main points of the article are wrong. .

This article presents an argument that instead of keeping life in control, instead we should live a carefree and relaxed life. The chaos that invades our lives often comes unknowingly, to which we submit ourselves, without even knowing it ourselves. This supports Kreider's claim that this work is a "trap". He also points out that once it begins to overtake our lives, we begin to accept it and are led to believe that there is no way to avoid it. Once we start believing that restlessness is an unavoidable part of life, we fall into the “busy trap”. The author also encourages audiences to avoid a busy lifestyle by giving several reasons why a relaxed lifestyle is more ideal. The author also challenges the audience to avoid busyness and strive to live a carefree life.

The Busy Trap is a mirror of how we people are living in the busy trap of our life. When  it shows us we that even a little kid who is in elementary school is also busy with many stuffs that he or she can’t even relax and in the end of the day that kid is as busy as grown ups . The Busy Trap is showing us that we are chasing the busy life with full of regrets in the end of our life’s and I agree with it too . As the author explaining to us we should stop being busy and enjoy our lives with our family or doing what I want to do to relax other wise in the end of our life we will regret that we couldn’t spend time with our loved ones because of our busyness so avoid the busyness.

The ‘Busy’ Trap,” Kreider argues that people in America proclaim their busyness as a complaint, but really it is a boast. He points out the irony of the fact that instead of people who work long shifts and three jobs complaining about how busy they are, it is the people whosebusyness is self-imposed who complain the most. He notes the phenomenon has spread to overscheduled children and reflects on his own childhood of unstructured free time that enabled him to discover his life preferences. He suggests people create busyness in order to validate the worth and value of their own lives. Kreider explains that until recently his life was not busy, spending only a few hours a day writing, which is how he prefers it. He complains about a time when he became busy with obligations and found it so intolerable that he fled town. He argues that idleness is necessary for deep thought and, therefore, is a driving factor behind the great ideas of the world. . He assumes that all people can have more free time and should devote it to creating essential things. The author stresses that being busy is often self-imposed as it makes people feel their importance and relevance. Nevertheless, the utilized arguments are weak, and even fallacies used do not make the reader share this view.

The busy trap.

On that essay the author stated that American people and the whole society is busy with their own high ambition. They are not busy to make their minimum wedge. They have extremely high ambition and from that they suffer from anxiety, depression, busyness. Even childern are so much busy. Cause life is too short to get busy. The author has a job that is associated with a considerable amount of free time. He is also financially secured. He has an opportunity to leave everything behind and live in a place with no Internet connection, which is a privilege only a few people can enjoy.

From reading the article "The Busy Trap" I think the whole article is about our addiction to being busy all the time.We are tend to think that if we are busy and we are cancelling plans with friends, family, relatives we will be more valuable and more wanting to them. They will think I am something and I am very important. The author wrote that he doesn't like to be busy all the time.He wants to do his job to earn that much money which is needed to feed and maintain himself. Other times he wants to rest and enjoy life. But his society (friends, family, relatives) want him to be busy all the time. That made him angry and he leave his place and go somewhere else where he was very busy. From that we can say it is the society which is making us to think that being busy means being important.

After reading this article, I understand this article "The Busy Trap" deals with modern man's  author emphasizes that people emphasize a sense of responsibility rather than doing certain things.

Sometimes, we can't decide what to do with our lives. I can't figure out how to make myself financially sound.  Philosophers are constantly looking for its consequences from different directions.  Today if we notice, everyone is busy. I believe we fall into this trap because we are afraid to take responsibility for our lives and we are very comfortable with being 'busy' with a meaningful life.

In conclusion, it can be said that the author emphasizes that being busy is often self-imposed.

I found his article very interesting because it made me examine my own life and question why I am so busy, Why am I working full time? We tried to balance social life and family time. It is hard to identify why we sometimes feel the constant need to do something and why we feel the need to be so busy. I also think that he fails to remember some of the obligations that people need to keep, especially regarding family. But I would argue that a better word to use is relaxing and unwinding from the rigors of a busy schedule. How we can live a much more enjoyable life outside the "endless mad rush of the world." We do this because of the anxiety, guilt and emptiness they feel when they are not working and they must book every hour to feel important. Although being busy can be a good thing but most of the time the things we keep ourselves busy with don't even matter in the grand scheme of things.

In the article  ''The Busy Trap'' the author states that the people in America likes to show them as  busy person. This is their one kind of vanity. The Busy Trap is a mirror of how we people are living in this world. This phenomena also spreads in Over scheduled  children whom spend their childhood by doing homework and classes. Our author presents an argument that instead of keeping a busy life, we should live a care free and relaxed life which does not mean we do not work. We will work and earn as much as we need to livelihood. Instead of keeping busy whole life, we need to find what is actual meaning of life. We should find time for ourself, our loved one.

The 'Busy 'Trap by Tim Kreinder this article mainly based on our day to day busy life. And this busyness of life never ends untill death according to Tim. We human being always try to make our-self busy. We have no time for our-self, for our friends or our family. We have no time for our laziness, for our refreshment. But according to author of this article there are many great things in this world like Newtons' law came from refreshing hour or laziness. In the conclusion from my point of view it is clear that life is too short to be busy. We don't need so many money to become happy or to lead our life properly. So after sufficient work we need to keep some time for our-self only. There is no necessity to lead this full of human within business.

The busy Trap is a great article of The New York Times. It speaks about the busyness of people. Nowadays almost everyone is busy even a school going child. It may happens because people don’t know what to do with the life. people don’t know the meaning of life. But the life is meaningfull in many ways. Life can be beautiful even in the midst of busyness. And the writter is saying we should stop being busy so much. we should enjoy the life with family and friends or we should make ourself relax otherwise at the end of our life we may have to regret that we couldn’t spend our valuable time with our loved ones because of our busyness.

We have no time for ourselves, our friends or our family. For our laziness, we have no time for our refreshment. Then he has to participate in swimming or karate class. In fact at his age he doesn't even have time for himself. In the article “ The Busy Trap” by Tim Kreider we can see ourselves . Because day by day we are getting too busy which is not the meaning of our life. Yes, works and others are really important in life but those are just a part of our life but foolishly we are making this our life.

According to Tim Kreider in the life of Americans they are very busy to fulfill their ambitious. They are just running behind which is separating them from the actual meaning of life. They have no relax, no charms, no fun they are just maintaining a commercial life. Even the children are also very with their study that they have no time to experience their life. After their busy day they become so tired to give time to their family and friends.

So this is not the right way to lead life. This a trap in which we are falling everyday. We should get rid of it and need to lead an ideal life with gaining every flavor of life.

Tim Kreider writes the article “The “Busy Trap”,” and it deals with modern people’s attitude towards life. The author stresses that people take up responsibilities to feel important rather than do particular tasks. Kreider also emphasizes that being too busy makes people less creative and productive, so it is necessary to devote more time to leisure. At that, the author’s arguments are relatively weak, and the article is characterized by several fallacies. The present paper includes a brief analysis of the significant errors found in the text under study.

In “The ‘Busy Trap,’” one should strive to avoid busyness is very well thought out, however, some of the points in the article have faulty reasoning. People are busy due to their addiction to business or their fears of “what they might have to face in its absence” However, this argument is based on the wrong causality as people are busy since they need to earn their living and bring up their children. This Article presents the argument that instead of keeping a busy life, we should live a carefree and relaxed life instead. The busyness that overtakes our lives often comes subconsciously, which we submit to, without even realizing it ourselves. This supports Kreider’s claims that busyness is a “trap”. He also points out that once it has begun to overtake our lives, we begin to accept it and are led to believe that there is no way to avoid it. Once we start to believe that busyness is an unavoidable part of life, then we fall into the “busy trap.” The author also encourages the audience to avoid a busy lifestyle giving several reasons why a relaxed lifestyle is more ideal. The author also challenges the audience to avoid busyness and to strive towards a less stressful lifestyle.

Everyone in this world is totally obsessed with unnecessary and ominous tasks. In his article, society views it as 'busy' and even talks about the negative impact it can have on someone’s mental health and well-being. In order for people to feel accomplished and productive, they think they must have something going on every hour of the day and week, including weekends. not only adults have fallen victim to the increase in the busy lifestyle but children as well are victims. I think Kreider is stereotyping groups of people and sharing his opinion of their definition of busy and others who read this article may feel the same way. An example of him committing this fallacy is when he says “Even children are busy now, scheduled down to the half-hour with classes and extra-curricular activities. They come home at the end of the day as tired as grown-ups”. This commits the hasty generalization fallacy because that's his point of view and only his. Also, what he said about the children being busy all the time makes me wonder where is he getting that information from and why doesn’t he provide any outside information supporting what he said. An opportunity could be to change some of the words on his opinion to ensure that it is allowing others to think about this population who think they are too busy and allow the reader to think about his own life to determine if they are victims of this scenario.

This is the kind of mentality Tim Kreider criticizes in his much-discussed New York Times essay “The ‘Busy’ Trap,” and he’s right, at least in part. In that responding to “How are you?” with a breathless “SOOOO BUSSSYYY” is clearly, as he writes, “a boast disguised as a complaint,” Kreider is satisfyingly spot-on. Being busy is not something to be proud of in the abstract; certain kinds of busyness—such as being busy caring for loved ones, for example—are necessary and good, but many others are of the “choose your own adventure”

The busy trap is a persuasive essay written by Tim Kreiderwhere he depicts Americans being too busy because of theirpersonal choice. Busyness gives us a sense of existentialreassurance, escape from emptiness and a feeling ofimportance that is why people fall in love with the idea of beingbusy. We have fallen in trap as we believe busyness is part of lifewhich cannot be avoided. Not being busy makes us feel guilty, anxious and worthless. We are in self-delusion as we believedoing our jobs means we are doing anything tangible.” Moreand more people in this country no longer make or do anythingtangible; if your job wasn’t performed by a cat or boaconstrictor”(Paragraph 6). Unfortunately, job or profession isn’tas significant as we picture it to be. Lying in our death bed, wewon’t be reminiscing about jobs, salary or busy day.

Re: Opinion on The Busy Trap

by Syeda Ishrat Asbab -
We all have limited time in this world which we often forget and we then put our priorities based on instant demand, putting away other things that might've been as important for the future that has no guarantee. Tim Kreider has taken his time to make us aware of this simple fact. We take 'time' for granted and make ourselves appear "too busy" to appreciate or enjoy life as if being busy is something to be proud of or is a privilege to achieve. This 'busy' term seems to hold a status itself.
He also mentions that idleness is not necessarily that bad since most genius ideas come into existence from an idle person. He stated examples of Newton exploring gravity while resting under a tree and Archimedes discovering buoyancy in the bath. We too understand that without the ambition to be lazy the coffee machine or the washing machine would not be invented. This was only a surface-level example but the main focus is that we have a wrong concept planted in our brains we should only enjoy life when we earn stability or when we will be able to afford it. No one can ensure how long their life journey will last. It's far better to lead a happy life with people you love and care for, doing activities that will make you not regret your decisions later on. Again, Tim Kreider is not fully advising us to be idle always but expressing to us how we should set or rearrange our priorities and actually experience life.
