The Hindu period in the history of Bangladesh refers to the time before the arrival of Islam in the region. Bangladesh, situated in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, has a rich history dating back to ancient times. During the Hindu period, which lasted for centuries, the region was ruled by various Hindu dynasties and empires, including the Maurya, Gupta, Pala, and Sena dynasties.

These dynasties played a significant role in shaping the cultural, architectural, and political landscape of the region. Hinduism flourished during this time, and many temples and religious sites were constructed, some of which still exist today as important historical landmarks.

The Hindu period in Bangladesh came to an end with the arrival of Islam in the region, which led to significant changes in the religious and social fabric of the society. However, the influence of the Hindu period can still be seen in various aspects of Bangladeshi culture, including architecture, language, and customs.
