Dear Students, I welcome all of you to my course "Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century Literature". The course covers a wide range of genres about British history, religious
conflict, and political upheaval in relation to its historical and social
contexts. Seventeenth- and eighteenth-century English literature are connected
to our contemporary society in many ways that increases its importance among
the students of English literature. Therefore, studying the course will not only provide you a deep insight about the contemporary culture and history, but also offer you an opportunity to make a comparison between that time with the recent world to see the extent of social and cultural changes happened so far.
