This course is designed to improve students's skills in editing news peices for publishing. This course demands development of their language skills and analytical ability. This course also requires the students to develop sharp minds and eyes to find errors in copies. Reading newspapers on regular basis is mandatory as attentive reading of newspapers will help them develop the skills needed for news editing. The classes will discuss issues regarding edting news - both theoritical and practical. Contents of major local and international newspapers will be analysed for learning how to edit. At the end of the semester, the students will be expected to apply basic editing skills for a news publishing and also be able to edit contents of "JMC Gazette" (The students' publication of the Dept. of JMC).
