The course is offered to develop an understanding of methods and techniques used to analyze textile fibre, yarns and fabrics for end-use performance and to acquire knowledge and understanding of various structural properties of textiles and relate to end use fabric performance and product.
CILOs:
By the end of this course, the learners will be able to:
· Explain different properties of textile material
· Perform different tests of physical properties of textile materials (yarn and fabric) like strength, shrinkage, thickness, stiffness, crease recovery angle, crimp, pilling, abrasion resistance etc. according to standard methods
· Assess color fastness properties like wash, water, rubbing etc. of textile material according to standard methods
· Calculate GSM of fabric using different equations of different structure and also can design suitable GSM cutter of different size
· Analyze the composition of fibres in blends
Prepare test report of finished fabric in a Quality Control/Assurance Laboratory (in wet processing sector).
