Rational:
This topics will provide the knowledge for better understanding about the Geometrical part of Optics like Reflection, Refaction and optical instruments. -
Objectives:
The chapter objectives to
(i) Define about the classification of optics (Geometrical and Physical)
(ii) Which optical subject are in the geometrical part and their work in our life and extend
-
Outcomes:
- know and be able to use the law of reflection and refraction.
- be able to sketch ray diagrams to locate images formed by mirrors and lenses.
- be able to calculate the magnification of images formed by reflection and refraction.
- be able to determine the speed of light in different media.
- be able to use Snell's law for the refraction of light.
- know how to determine the critical angle for total internal reflection and about optical fiber.
- know and be able to use the law of reflection and refraction.

Teaching and Learning Strategy:
TLS1
Using different learning tools (like duster-marker, multimedia etc) on particular topics.
TLS2
Active discussion in class regarding topics issues.
TLS3
Group discussion and presentation regarding using based on situation
-
Rational:
This topics will provide the knowledge for better understanding about the Production, emission and propagation of light. Also some phenomena, what will evolved with wave nature of light like, interference, diffraction and polarisation -
Objectives:
The chapter objectives are to
(i) Describe the production, emission and propagation of light
(ii) Some optical phenomena, which we may observe in our practical life
-
Outcomes:
(i) Students will able to identify, formulate, and solve physics and engineering problems use physical optics.
(ii) They will be recognized of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
(j) They will able to identify and communicate better using in engineering of this chapter (Physicla Optics) related issues
