    • Course Rationale: 

      This subject aims to furnish students with an in-depth knowledge of the global textile economy and explicate the students’ understanding on the textile sector of Bangladesh with current and future trend.

    • Course Objective: 

      •  After completion of the course students will have an idea about the global textile economy.
      •  They will learn about the leading exporters and importers of textile raw materials, products and machineries.
      • The  ideas of textile sector of Bangladesh with emphasis on its competitor countries will be gained through this course.
      •  The course will equip students   about the current and future trend of textile product exported from Bangladesh.
      • They will also learn about SWOT of textile sector of Bangladesh.

    • Course Outcomes (CO’s):

      CO 1     : Able to know about basic economics and its scope.

      CO2     : Able to know about the backward linkage and forward linkage of RMG.

      CO3     : Able to understand trade and differentiate tariff and non tariff barriers.

      CO4     : Can understand GSP and rules of origin.

      CO5     : Able to know understand the export and import of textile fibers.

      CO6     : Able to calculate the processing cost of different textile process.

    • Fabric Consumption Assignment

      Construction of an woven fabric is 92x68/30x20 and width is 60’’. Consider price of warp and weft yarn is BDT 80 and BDT 72 respectively. Consider standard crimp% (10-15%), weaving cost (15-30 BDT/Yard), dyeing cost (25-45 BDT/yard), transport cost (BDT 5/yard), commercial cost (BDT 2/yard) and profit (BDT 15/yard). Calculate the quoted price of one yard fabric considering conversion rate BDT 86 per US Dollar.
