      Welcome to Research Culture and Achievement Course. This course is created to acquaint the faculty and admin of DIU with the research and publication culture of the university. This course provides a glimpse of the overall activities of the Division of Research and the present research potentials of the faculty members as well as their achievements. The ultimate goal is to establish DIU as a research university nationally and internationally and improve the status of the university in reputed World University Rankings.

      The faculty and admin of DIU can have a thorough understanding of the research culture from this course without having any assistance from a colleague.

      I invite our present and future colleagues (faculty and admin) to utilize the resources included in different sections to enrich their understanding of the research and publication practices at DIU.

  • Agenda of Division of Research

    The Division of Research of DIU started its journey in July 2017. The goal of the research endeavor of Division of Research is to build a research culture at the department level and the university as a whole and consequently, establish DIU as a Research University in international arena. Managing and conducting collaborative research with national and foreign universities is an important part of our endeavors. Participation in world university rankings (especially THE and QS) and ensure a position in the ranking list in the future is the best way to be recognized DIU by the global community. Quality education and research are two most important ingredients of world university rankings.

    For achievement of the goals, we give priority on setting up a research infrastructure in the university, and creating an appropriate environment for research and publications through awareness and capacity building, motivation, inspiration and encouragement of the faculty. These initiatives reveal positive impacts in terms of increasing number of Scopus publications of our faculty.


    • Research Culture at DIU

      The recent research drives of the DIU faculty members has a notable success towards establishment of a research culture in the university. In early 2019, Division of Research announced KPI of Scopus publications (950) for this year and assigned KPI for each department. Since January 2019, each department has conducted research workshops to achieve their KPI where every teacher presented his/her research plans for this year including strategies for involvement of their students. These workshops revealed several important aspects, such as, existing situation of research culture in the department, lack of facilities for doing research, gaps with regard to knowledge and skills etc. It is very encouraging for us that a few students of a number of departments are publishing papers in Scopus indexed journals and conferences jointly with their teachers although doing research is not mandatory for our undergraduate students. Having realized their encouragement and willingness for doing research, we have introduced research grant facilities for them.
