A Break-even point is a situation where an organization making money or losing money, but all costs have been covered. It is useful in studying the relation between variable cost, fixed cost, and revenue. Generally, a company will low fixed costs will have a low break-even point of sale. Since opportunity costs have been paid and capital has taken the risk-adjusted, necessary return, there is no net loss or benefit, and one has "broken even."
