Gender and Development: Gender and Development is a development perspective that recognizes the unequal status and situation of women and men in society.
It aims to involve both women and men in addressing their development problem, to reform institutions to establish equal rights and opportunities, and to foster economic development which strengthens equal participation. The Gender and Development (GAD) approach focuses on the socially constructed differences between men and women the need to challenge existing gender roles and relations, and the creation and effects of class differences on development.
