The liberation war of Bangladesh was a significant event in history that led to the birth of Bangladesh as an independent nation. The role of the international community during the war was crucial in bringing an end to the conflict and securing the independence of Bangladesh. Here are some ways in which the international community contributed to the liberation war of Bangladesh:

1. Humanitarian assistance: Several countries provided humanitarian aid and support to Bangladeshi refugees who were forced to flee their homes due to violence and persecution. Countries like India, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom provided food, shelter, and medical assistance to refugees in their respective countries.

2. Diplomatic pressure: Several countries exerted diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to end the conflict and recognize Bangladesh as an independent nation. The United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union played a crucial role in mediating between the warring factions and brokering a ceasefire.

3. Military assistance: Several countries provided military assistance to the Bangladeshi forces fighting against the Pakistani army. India played a significant role in providing military support to Bangladesh, including training, arms, and ammunition. The Soviet Union also provided military support to Bangladesh.

4. Media coverage: The international media played an important role in highlighting the atrocities committed by the Pakistani army against the Bangladeshi people. This brought global attention to the conflict and put pressure on the international community to take action.

In conclusion, the international community played a critical role in the liberation war of Bangladesh. The humanitarian assistance, diplomatic pressure, military assistance, and media coverage provided by various countries helped bring an end to the conflict and secure the independence of Bangladesh.

The role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 was crucial in shaping the outcome of the conflict. Various countries and international organizations provided different forms of assistance to the Bangladeshis in their struggle for independence.

India played a particularly significant role in the conflict, providing support to the Bangladesh Liberation War in the form of arms, training, and shelter for refugees. The Soviet Union also offered political and military support to India, which further aided the cause of Bangladesh's liberation.

The United States, on the other hand, initially supported Pakistan, which was the opposing force in the conflict, but eventually changed its stance after reports of human rights violations surfaced. The US administration then imposed an arms embargo on Pakistan and provided humanitarian assistance to Bangladesh.

Other countries such as the United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada provided economic and humanitarian aid to Bangladesh during and after the conflict. International organizations such as the United Nations also played a significant role in providing aid to the refugees and helping to negotiate a ceasefire.

Overall, the role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh was critical in supporting the cause of Bangladesh's independence and in mitigating the impact of the conflict on the civilian population. The assistance provided by various countries and organizations.

During the Liberation War of Bangladesh, the role of international communities, including the United Nations, India, the United States, and China, was significant in both shaping the conflict and ultimately ending it.
Role of The UN:
1. The United Nations played a key role in the liberation of Bangladesh by recognizing the legitimacy of the Bangladesh independence movement.
2. By providing humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict.
3. In December 1971, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution that recognized Bangladesh as a sovereign state.
4. This resolution helped to legitimize the new nation in the eyes of the international community and provided an important boost to the Bangladesh independence movement.
Role of India:
1. India played a pivotal role in the liberation of Bangladesh by providing military support to the Bangladesh Liberation Army.
2. This support, which included the provision of arms and training, helped turn the tide of the war in favor of Bangladesh.
3. India also provided humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict, including refugees who had fled to India to escape the violence.
Role of The US:
1. The United States initially took a cautious approach to the conflict, but as the situation deteriorated, it began to exert pressure on Pakistan to end the conflict.
2. The U.S. government also provided humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict and played a role in providing diplomatic support to Bangladesh during the war.

Role of China:
1. On the other hand, China supported Pakistan during the conflict and was instrumental in preventing the UN Security Council from taking action to end the war.
2. However, as the conflict progressed and it became clear that Bangladesh would secure its independence, China shifted its stance and began to recognize Bangladesh as a sovereign state.

The role of international communities during the Liberation War of Bangladesh was significant and played a crucial role in both shaping the conflict and ultimately ending it. While some countries supported Pakistan, the support of the United Nations, India, and the United States helped legitimize the Bangladesh independence movement and provided critical resources and support to bring an end to the conflict

International communities had a great impact in the liberation war of Bangladesh. Foreign countries, associations, organizations directly and indirectly assisted Bangladesh during war. They supported by various kind of acts such as: supported by taking Bangladeshi refugees, giving them shelter, food , medicine. Military support by training, suppling ammunition. The media of international countries covered the situation of war which aware the world of what's happening in Bangladesh.

The Soviet Union supported the liberation war and helped by providing extensive aid, recognising Bangladesh's independence.

During war there had been serious human rights violations yet UN was unable to stop that. United States supported Pakistan and helped them but backed away after the violation of human rights surfaced in lights and Bangladesh steped ahead in winning the war. China as well supported pakistan first hand but when Bangladesh gain independence it acknowledged Bangladesh as a country.

India always supported Bangladesh during war. They gave shelter, provided food and aid to about 10 million Bangladeshi. They trained the people and provided ammunition. They also provided millitary assistance by directly envolving with Mukti Bahini and fought against Pakistan. They created awareness of the situation in different countries thus provided more help.

From this we can say international communities played their role both positively and negetively.

The role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh
The liberation war was a nine-month-long armed struggle that ultimately resulted in the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan. The international community, including countries and organizations played a crucial role in various ways during the liberation war. India, the Soviet Union, China, USA were one of the major key players who had a direct stake in this war and their roles were quite different as in the field of International Relations, every state actor always do want to serve their own interest while taking any steps that can have a global impact.
The role of neighboring country India was very friendly right from the beginning of the Liberation War of Bangladesh and India supported Bangladesh from every point of view because they also had their clear stake in this. India provided military training, weapons, and other forms of assistance to the Bangladeshi rebels, was instrumental in the ultimate victory of Bangladesh. India also gave Bangladesh the recognition as an Independent country on the 6th December of 1971. Some experts say that it would be a lot tougher task to get the victory of Bangladesh within a short possible time without the all-out support by India.
Soviet Union: Soviet Union supported Bangladesh wholeheartedly and they used their veto power consecutively three times in the United Nations Security Council which made the way easier for Bangladesh to reach her ever desired goal, “Independence”. The Liberation War of Bangladesh got international recognition and support because of the diplomatic initiatives taken by Soviet Union.
Other countries also played important roles, such as the Soviet Union, which supported India's involvement in the conflict and the United States, which played a diplomatic role in pressuring Pakistan to end the conflict and recognize Bangladesh's independence.
International organizations such as the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) also played important roles in providing kindly assistance to the affected population and in negotiating the release of prisoners of war.
The role of international media in highlighting the atrocities committed by the Pakistani military against the Bangladeshi population also played a crucial role in garnering international support for the liberation war.
Bangladesh got her independence on the 16th December of 1971 and 3 million people sacrificed their very own lives to get the freedom. Two lacs women were being abused physically and they were mentally traumatized because of what they had to go through. After all of these sacrifices, Bangladesh got to reach her desired destination by establishing herself as an independent country in the world map.

The liberation war of Bangladesh, also known as the Bangladesh War of Independence, was a nine-month-long conflict between East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Pakistan, which ultimately resulted in the creation of an independent Bangladesh. The international community played a crucial role in the liberation of Bangladesh by providing humanitarian aid, diplomatic support, and military intervention to support the Bengali independence movement. In this topic, I will evaluate the role of the international community during the liberation of Bangladesh.

1. Humanitarian aid: The international community played a significant role in providing humanitarian aid to the Bengali people during the liberation war. Countries like India, the Soviet Union, and Japan provided food, medical aid, and other essential supplies to the war-affected people of Bangladesh. The United Nations also played a crucial role in coordinating and mobilizing humanitarian assistance to the affected people.

2. Diplomatic support: The diplomatic support of the international community was crucial in the Bangladesh Liberation War. Countries like India, the Soviet Union, and the United States recognized the struggle of the Bengali people and supported their independence movement. At the same time, these countries also played a crucial role in persuading other countries to support the Bengali cause, which ultimately led to the creation of an independent Bangladesh.

3. Military intervention:
The military intervention of India was the most significant factor in securing the independence of Bangladesh. India launched a full-scale invasion of East Pakistan, thereby forcing West Pakistan to negotiate a ceasefire and eventually recognize the independence of Bangladesh. The Soviet Union also provided significant military assistance to India in the form of military hardware and intelligence support.

4. Role of media: The role of the media in highlighting the atrocities committed by the Pakistani army and the struggle of the Bengali people cannot be underestimated. The international media played a crucial role in bringing the atrocities committed in East Pakistan to the attention of the world, thereby creating public pressure on the international community to take action.

In conclusion, the international community played a crucial role in the liberation of Bangladesh by providing essential humanitarian aid, diplomatic support, and military intervention. It was this collective effort that ultimately led to the creation of an independent Bangladesh, allowing the Bengali people to exercise their right to self-determination.

The role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 was crucial and significant. The international communities, including governments, humanitarian organizations, and individuals, played a pivotal role in shaping the outcome of the war.

Firstly, the international communities provided diplomatic support to Bangladesh, which helped in the recognition of the country as an independent nation. The international pressure mounted on Pakistan, and the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution in favor of Bangladesh's independence in December 1971. The international pressure also led to India's intervention, which provided military support to Bangladesh, ultimately leading to the victory of the liberation war.

Secondly, the international communities provided humanitarian aid to the millions of refugees who fled to India to escape the atrocities committed by the Pakistani army. The aid included food, clothing, and medical supplies, which were essential for the survival of the refugees.

Thirdly, the international media played a critical role in exposing the brutality and genocide committed by the Pakistani army, which helped in mobilizing public opinion against Pakistan and in favor of Bangladesh's liberation.

In conclusion, the role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh was instrumental in achieving Bangladesh's independence. The diplomatic, humanitarian, and media support provided by the international communities helped in creating an enabling environment for the war, ultimately leading to the victory of Bangladesh.

The role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 was significant and multifaceted. Several countries and international organizations provided diplomatic, humanitarian, and military support to Bangladesh during its struggle for independence from Pakistan.

Diplomatic support was crucial in gaining recognition for Bangladesh as a separate and sovereign nation. Many countries, including India, the Soviet Union, and the United States, supported Bangladesh's cause and recognized it as an independent state. The United Nations also played an essential role in supporting Bangladesh's liberation, with the UN General Assembly adopting a resolution recognizing Bangladesh as a separate and sovereign state.

Humanitarian aid was also provided by many countries and organizations, including India, which provided shelter, food, and medical aid to millions of refugees who had fled to India to escape the violence in Bangladesh. Other countries, such as Japan and the United States, also provided significant aid to alleviate the suffering of the refugees.

Military support was also essential in the liberation of Bangladesh. India played a crucial role in providing military support to the Mukti Bahini, the Bengali resistance movement, which played a significant role in the eventual defeat of the Pakistan Army. Other countries, such as the Soviet Union and China, also provided military aid to Bangladesh.

In conclusion, the role of international communities during the liberation war of Bangladesh was crucial in providing diplomatic, humanitarian, and military support to Bangladesh during its struggle for independence. by ANIKA RUMMAN -
Role of international communities during the liberation of war of Bangladesh:

Bangladesh is a beautiful country in South Asia. It fought for nine months against Pakistan to gain its independence. Pakistan had a well-trained and equipped army, but Bangladesh had extreme determination to achieve its independence. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the leader who led the fight for independence. He sacrificed his life for the people of Bangladesh and united them to fight for their rights. Bangladesh and Sheikh Mujib are inseparable.
The Indian Subcontinent was divided into two major parts after gaining independence from British rule. Pakistan had two parts, East and West. Bangladesh used to be East Pakistan, which was oppressed by West Pakistan in every aspect, including language, economics, social and political issues.
During the nine months of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, foreign countries played significant roles. India, the Soviet Union, China, and the USA were the major key players. Each country served its own interests while taking actions with global impacts.
India played a friendly role from the beginning of the Liberation War. India supported Bangladesh from every point of view because it had its own interests. India gave shelter to more than 1 million war refugees who lost everything during the war. The Indian government led by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi took care of the refugees by providing them with food, accommodation, and medical assistance. India spent 700 million US dollars to look after the refugees.
Indira Gandhi visited Moscow to get the support of the Soviet Union in the United Nations Security Council. The Soviet Union gave their veto in the decision of the ceasefire option. India then launched a joint attack against the Pakistan Army. India recognized Bangladesh as an independent country on December 6, 1971. India also helped Bangladesh by training and providing arms and ammunition to the freedom fighters during the war.

In some stages of this Liberation War, the Soviet Union even declared the war as the “NATIONAL WAR”. The Soviet Foreign Minister during the time of war, Andrei Gromyko said to Rogers who was the Foreign Secretary of the USA,” The matter of East Pakistan is not an internal matter of Pakistan anymore. It has become a global issue.”
The Liberation War of Bangladesh got international recognition and support because of the diplomatic initiatives taken by Soviet Union.
China: The role of China was very much questionable as they were trying to help Pakistan because of their self-interest to ensure their stronghold in South Asia which Pakistan could help them to get established.
China was trying to portray this war as the internal matter of Pakistan where the whole world was supporting Bangladesh as Pakistan was inhumane and they were committing a mass genocide by killing millions of people. China could have played a better role instead of helping Pakistan in these heinous activities.
USA: The United States of America didn’t play any praise-worthy role during the Liberation War period as they did not want to make their bilateral relationship with Pakistan bad because of this issue.
The USA treated this war as the internal matter of Pakistan and they were secretly helping Pakistan financially and logistically. They raised the proposal of the ceasefire in East Pakistan on the 4th December of 1971 which was done to save Pakistan from getting defeated.
The United States of America even sent their 7th Naval Fleet in the Indian Ocean to save Pakistan but that fleet could not get the scope to enter into the Bay of Bengal because the Soviet Union also sent two task forces for tackling the situation.
The USA played some positive roles too by giving financial aid to India for taking care of the refugees that came from Bangladesh. The President of the United States of America, Richard Nixon granted 250 million dollars for the people who took shelter in the West Bengal, Meghalaya, Assam and Tripura region as the war refugees.
The Soviet Union, USA and China were involved in this Liberation War for serving their own interest to ensure their own domination over this region which has the geostrategic significance. It was also an unofficial competition among these major actors of world politics.

The role of international communities during the Liberation War of Bangladesh can be viewed from both positive and negative perspectives. Here are some examples:
Positive roles of international communities:
Humanitarian aid: Several international organizations and countries provided humanitarian aid to Bangladesh during the war, including food, medicine, and shelter. This aid was crucial in providing basic necessities to the refugees who were fleeing the violence.
Diplomatic support: The United Nations and several countries provided diplomatic support to Bangladesh by recognizing its sovereignty and calling for an end to hostilities. This support helped to legitimize the struggle for independence and put pressure on Pakistan to end the war.
Military support: India and the Soviet Union provided military support to Bangladesh by supplying weapons and training to the Mukti Bahini guerrilla fighters. This support was instrumental in weakening the Pakistani military and ultimately leading to the establishment of Bangladesh as an independent nation.
Negative roles of international communities:
Political interests: Some countries provided support to Bangladesh primarily for their own political interests, rather than out of a genuine concern for the well-being of the people of Bangladesh. For example, the Soviet Union saw the conflict as an opportunity to gain influence in the region.
Arms race: The support provided by some countries, such as the United States and China, fueled an arms race in the region. This led to increased militarization and instability, which had negative consequences for the people of Bangladesh and the wider region.
Human rights violations: Some international communities were complicit in the human rights violations that took place during the war. For example, the United States provided military aid to Pakistan, which was used to commit atrocities against the civilian population in Bangladesh.

In conclusion, the role of international communities during the Liberation War of Bangladesh was complex and multifaceted, with both positive and negative aspects. While some countries provided crucial support for the establishment of an independent Bangladesh, others pursued their own interests at the expense of the people of Bangladesh.

2.Prime Minister Indira Gandhi toured a large number of countries in a bid to create awareness of the Pakistani atrocities against Bengalis.
3.The Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi quickly decided that it was more effective to end the genocide by taking armed action against Pakistan.
4.Finally the Indian Military directly involved with tge Mukti Bahini and fought against the Pakistani Army that prompted the surrender of the Pakistani Army quickly.

The Soviet Union -
The Soviet Union supported Bangladesh and Indian Armies, as well as the Mukti Bahini.

China-
China supported Pakistan which as an ally of them and supplied arms.

USA-
USA supported Pakistan both politically and materially.US President Richard Nixon denied getting involved in the situation, saying that it was an internal matter. When Pakistan's defeat seemed certain,Nixon sent the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise to the Bay of Bengal.

United Nations -
United Nations condemned the human rights violations during and following operation searchlight, but it failed to defuse the situation politically before the start of the war U.K and France as part of NATO supported the United Nations.

The role of International communities was very much crucial and critical during the liberation war of Bangladesh. There were two groups during our liberation war.some countries were in favour of our country and some were in favour of Pakistan.

India, Soviet Union, United Kingdom and many other countries played a significant role in UN for our liberation.

U.S.A, China and some other countries were in favour of Pakistan.

International communities play a vital role in various aspects such as politically, military support, international media coverage etc. From these efforts the people of world get united to make Bangladesh as a independent country. Thus the role of international communities was unforgettable for the people of Bangladesh.

The role of international communities during the Liberation of war of bangladesh was significant. Beside the role was also positive & negative. In 1971 when the war started various countries were favor of Bangladesh like as India, soviet union.but some countries were not favor of Bangladesh like as China,USA.They were favor of Pakistan. If that countries were more than strong that's why it was difficult for banglash.
The role of India :
The role was pivotal in the success of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.India provided military and logistical support to the Bangladesh Mukti Bahini (Bangladesh Liberation Army) throughout the war. Indian troops also actively participated in the conflict, which helped turn the tide in favor of Bangladesh. India also provided shelter and humanitarian aid to millions of Bangladeshi refugees who had fled to India to escape the violence.

The Indian Air Force played a significant role in the war by conducting air strikes against Pakistani military installations in East Pakistan. The Indian Navy also played a critical role in the conflict by imposing a naval blockade on East Pakistan, which disrupted the Pakistani military's supply lines and prevented reinforcements from reaching them.

Lastly, I can say India's support for the Bangladesh Liberation War was crucial in helping Bangladesh achieve independence from Pakistan. India's role in the war strengthened its position as a regional power and helped build strong ties between India and Bangladesh.

The role of Soveit Union:The Soviet Union was one of the first countries to recognize the newly independent nation of Bangladesh. The Soviet Union also played a vital role for international arena providing military and economic support . It used its influence in the United Nations to rally support for Bangladesh's independence and put pressure on Pakistan to end the conflict. Its military, economic, and diplomatic support helped the Bengali rebels withstand the Pakistani military's aggression and eventually achieve victory.

The role of China :China played a complex and controversial role during the Liberation War of Bangladesh. At the time, China was a close ally of Pakistan and had strained relations with India. As such, China provided military and diplomatic support to Pakistan during the conflict.China helped Pakistan providing weapons and ammunition, and trained Pakistani soldiers.the role was negative for Bangladesh and made it more challenging for India and Bangladesh to achieve victory.
The role of USA:The role of the United States during the Liberation War of Bangladesh was limited, and the USA government initially supported Pakistan's efforts to control over Bangladesh. In 1971, the USA government provided Pakistan with military and economic aid and did not support Bangladesh's independence movement.

However, as the conflict escalated and reports of Pakistani military atrocities in Bangladesh emerged, public pressure in the United States increased, and the
USA government's position on the conflict began to shift. The US government started to distance itself from Pakistan and called for an end to the violence.
In December 1971, after India had intervened militarily to support Bangladesh, the US government sent a naval task force to the Bay of Bengal, ostensibly to evacuate US citizens from the region.

In conclusion, I can say International communities played both positive and negative role during the Liberation war.

International communities played a significant role during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. They provided diplomatic, humanitarian, political, military, moral, and media support to Bangladesh's cause for independence from Pakistan. This included recognizing Bangladesh as an independent country, providing aid to refugees, advocating for Bangladesh's cause globally, offering military assistance, raising awareness through media coverage, and coordinating efforts through international organizations. The combined efforts of international communities helped raise awareness, build pressure, and support Bangladesh in achieving its independence.
