Section 51-60 of chapter 5 of The Bangladesh Labour Code,2006 deal with health and hygiene.
Cleanliness : section 51 of the code provides for rules as to cleanliness. That means every establishment shall be kept clean.The floor of work room shall be cleaned at least Once in a week.
Ventilation : section 52 deals with the rules for ventilation. Every work room shall be maintain adequate ventilation by the circulation of fresh air.
Dust and Fume:section 53 provides for rules relating to dust and fume.Exhaust appliance or other safeguards must be used for this.
Disposal of waste and Effluents : section 54 of the code declare that effective arrangement shall be made in every factory for the disposal of waste.
Artificial Humidification : section 55 provides rules relating to artificial humidification.
Overcrowding :according to section 56 -no work room in any factory shall be overcrowded to an extent injurious to health.
Lighting :section 57 provides that every part of an establishment where workers are Working or passing there shall be provided or maintain sufficient and suitable lighting, Natural or artificial, or both.
Drinking water: section 58 provides the rules relating drinking water such as all such points shall be legibly marked drinking water in a proper understandable language.
Latrines and Urinals : section 59 provides the rules of sufficient latrines and urinals of prescribed types.
Spittoons : section 60 of the code provide that every establishment there shall be provided, at convenient places a sufficient number of spittoons.
