Food Marketing is defined as a series of marketing events that take place between a food company and a consumer.

Food companies frequently use generic marketing tactics and strategies that are used in the marketing of other types of products and services. A food advertising agency often uses the same tactics in the advertisement. Test marketing, segmentation, positioning, branding, targeting, consumer research, and market entrance strategy are all important subjects in food marketing.

Example:

One of Burger King’s best ads is the “Moldy Whopper” ad from 2017. The ad shows a Whopper burger sitting on a counter for 34 days, slowly decaying and growing mold. The ad ends with the tagline “The beauty of no artificial preservatives.”

The ad is so good because it is simple, straightforward, and effective. It shows the viewer what happens to a Whopper burger made with fresh ingredients without artificial preservatives, and it does so in a way that is both visually appealing and repulsive.
