    Introduction

    Though translation is a transition from any Source Language to Target Language, the course will only use Bangla and English as SL or TL.

    Course Description:

    The course introduces students with the art of translation along with the theories and different techniques relating to it. As a part of the course work, students have to undertake intensive and extensive practice in translating literary and non-literary texts from English to Bangla and vice versa. Special emphasis is laid on translating a text maintaining its originality and quality. Translation for special purposes is also covered.

    Course Objectives: After completing this course, students will be able to:

    ·         evaluate the quality of a translated text, understand the process and art of translation.

    ·         analyse the cultural and political considerations concerning translation.

    ·         demonstrate their skill as a translator.
