    • Course  Rationale:

      This subject aims to develop students with an in-depth knowledge of different textile testing, standards, quality control and explicate the students’ understanding on the textile sector of Bangladesh with current and future trend.

    • Course Objectives:

        By the end of this course student will be able to

      • Demonstrate expertise about various types of texting standards and its application. 
      • Get clear concepts on qualitative and quantitative method of fiber identification.
      • Acquire clear concepts on fiber moisture, yarn fineness & yarn twist.
      • Learn basic concept of tensile, tearing & bursting strength of fabric, determination of pilling tendency & abrasion resistance of cloth.
      • Measure color fastness and other related methods.

    • Course Outcomes (CO’s):

      CO 1       : Able to know about various test standards, Commercial inspection & testing organizations.

      CO2        : Able to demonstrate qualitative and quantitative analysis of textile fibers.

      CO3        : Able to determine fiber moisture, yarn fineness & yarn twist,  (EPI/PPI), cover factor & GSM of fabric.

      CO4        : Able to identify tensile, tearing & bursting strength of fabric. 

      CO5        : Able to recognize pilling tendency & abrasion resistance of cloth

      CO6       :  Able to calculate colorfastness of a dyed material, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to water,                     colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration and colorfastness to light.

      Chapter Six                    : Colorfastness of a dyed material and it's effect.
