Difference between Free, Hate & Offensive Speech:

 Free Speech: It means, Freedom of speech, whether it’s being expressed in the form of a tweet or on a bold sign being held by a protestor, is what protects every person’s right to say what they want to say. Opinions, ideas and thoughts, proposals, etc. are meant to be shared and are crucial to the well-being of individuals and an evolving society.

 Hate Speech: When language or ideas become cynical or hurtful to others or threatening, free speech turns into “hate speech” and in several ways, breaks down a society rather than helping it grow and evolve. Free speech: By "free speech" we understand that someone can say whatever he wants. No one will forbid him. But there are some factors which has to be taken care of. First of all, someone has to have experience on the topic he is going to talk and what will be the reaction of that speech. Again he has to have knowledge on that topic. Without proper knowledge he can not give proper speech. Lastly he has to know what will be the outcome of his speech.

Hate speech: Hate speech is something which may start a war/fight among people, countries or others things. Let's say someone gave a speech that he wants to harm somebody/some country. Than there will be a war. This type of speech is known as hate speech.

Offensive speech: Let's say someone gave a speech where he said that Bangladesh is the powerful country in the world. Many people may not agree on this topic. Which will arise a debate among people. This type of speech is known as offensive speech.

Opinions, ideas and thoughts, proposals, etc. are meant to be shared and are crucial to the well-being of individuals and an evolving society. However, is there such thing as too much freedom to say what we please?

When exercising your right to freedom of speech, which is given to all Americans under the First Amendment of the Constitution, you are legally allowed to say or think any opinion without restraint or censorship. With that said, there are still lines that can be crossed. When language or ideas become cynical or hurtful to others or threatening, free speech turns into “hate speech” and in several ways, breaks down a society rather than helping it grow and evolve. That line is often crossed, however the idea of hate speech has no legal definition, nor does it have any form of punishment by law.

Hate speech and free speech have distinct differences, but they are completely intertwined. Although you’re protected by the first amendment to say or think what you want, there are still consequences socially. Putting hateful, racist, homophobic or threatening remarks out into the world not only hurt the people who are being targeted, but also yourself.

Hate speech is communication that is deemed to be harmful (individually or at a social level) on the basis of defined ‘protected attributes’ such as race, disability, sexuality, etc.

Free speech is the right to say whatever one likes. It is unconstrained by the disciplines of reason and objectivity. It doesn’t require factual accuracy.

Offensive speech is simply any communication that upsets someone.

The difference between Free, Hate and Offensive Speech is given below,
Free Speech is defined as, "A principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a group or community to articulate their opinions and ideas without any fear of retaliation, censorship or legal sanction. But it doesn't mean that people have the right to say anything they want or anywhere they want.
Basically, Freedom of speech stands for the right to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds by any means. it's an expression which applies to ideas of all kinds including those that may be deeply offensive but it comes with responsibilities and it can be legitimately restricted.
Free Speech is thought of people's mind, their observations with some restrictions. People have the right to say about what they are thinking, intent to do etc. Free speech can be shared by social media that we use, in our surroundings etc.

Hate Speech is defined as, "Speech that carries the expression of hatred for some group or particular parties which circumstances or communication provokes the violence." Basically, Hate Speech is considered a reasonable restriction on freedom of speech and expression. The motive of Hate Speech is to eradicate racism and communal disharmony. Hate or Offensive Speech always spread the vibe of hatred or offending speech. It makes people feel bullied by using this kind of words. Offensive or Hate Speech can be spread by social media that we use in our daily life, from our surroundings, from the people we are communicating daily.

So, these are the differences between Free, Hate and Offensive Speech.
